Questions surround the revolving door of leadership at the University of New Mexico in the wake of Robert Frank's decision to step down as president.

The Albuquerque Journal reports (http://bit.ly/2dKxhvH) that next May, he'll fill a new position at the school's Health Sciences Center.

He is currently under contract until May 31.

Frank will get paid slightly less in his new role with an annual salary of $350,000.

Albuquerque Democrat Sen. Jerry Ortiz y Pino said the position is a revolving door.

Albuquerque Republican Rep. Larry Larrañaga says continuity would benefit the university.

Faculty Senate President Pamela Pyle said graduation rates, hiring and economic development have made gains under Frank.

Board of Regents President Rob Doughty says the search for Frank's replacement should start by spring 2017 at the latest.
