UPDATE: Border Patrol Cancels Flights From Texas

The Border Patrol's parent agency says it has canceled flights to bring nearly 300 Central American migrants from South Texas to California for processing but says plans could be reinstated.

Spokesman Ralph DeSio (dah-SAY-oh) said Sunday that he didn't know why flights to San Diego and El Centro were shelved. He says planning is "in a very fluid state."

Paul Beeson, the Border Patrol's San Diego sector chief, told The Associated Press Saturday that there would be two flights Monday with 140 passengers each. The flights were expected to continue every three days.

DeSio says those statements were accurate at the time.
