Thomas Reiter, German Astronaut and retired Brigadier General with the German Air Force, is now the Director of the European Space Agency’s (ESA) Directorate of Human Spaceflight and Operations. He is responsible for managing European contributions to the ISS, overseeing human spaceflight activities for the Agency, the Space Situational Awareness Programs and operations of ESA satellite missions, along with coordinating the evolution of ESA’s international partners in the ISS program.

On Saturday, April 16, 2016, Reiter will be in Alamogordo to accept induction into the International Space Hall of Fame. During the luncheon ceremony, he will be giving a presentation on ESA’s plans for exploration and their cooperation with NASA.

The ceremony to induct Thomas Reiter into the International Space Hall of Fame will be held Saturday, April 16, beginning at 11:30 am at The Elks Lodge, 2290 Hamilton Road, Alamogordo, NM. Immediately following the Induction Luncheon, a reception will be held at the German Community Center at 1451 Galway Drive. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and speak with Thomas Reiter. Tickets for the luncheon are $25 each. Tickets for the reception are also $25 each and are limited to a total of 50. Tickets for both events are now on sale on the museum’s website.
