A 16-year-old Las Cruces girl who had been missing since Dec. 10, 2014 was located by Doña Ana County Sheriff’s deputies in the Vado area Tuesday morning.
Rosa Hurtado reportedly went to school at Las Cruces High on Dec. 10 but did not return home, according to her mother. The teen called home on Dec. 19, but the phone connection was lost and Hurtado’s mother was reportedly not able to contact her again.
Several tips that were generated through media attention of the investigation led deputies to a house in the Vado area, where Hurtado was reportedly staying with friends.
She has been reunited with her family. No criminal charges have been filed.
