Las Cruces- The District One office for the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) with Smith and Aguirre Construction continue with the project development of the concrete wall barrier, lighting and placement of the large digital message board.
The contractor will need to close a portion of the eastbound lanes on US 70 between Rinconanda Blvd (exit 152) and Sonoma Ranch Blvd (exit 153) on Thursday August 21st from 7:00 pm until 6:00 am. The closure is due to the contractor installing and connecting the large digital message board. Motorists will be advised to detour on to Bataan Memorial (frontage road) where they can regain access to US 70 eastbound at Sonoma Ranch Blvd.
The contractor is approximately 80% complete with minor pending items such as lighting and roadway enhancements within the median area. The project is scheduled to be complete by late September 2014.
