U.S. 70 Resurfacing Work Begins

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will begin chip seal operations on Monday, July 29, on a section of U.S. 70 between Tularosa and Ruidoso. The project includes approximately 14 miles of resurface work that will preserve the life of the highway.

Other roads scheduled for chip seal this summer include N.M. 244, N.M. 6563 (Sunspot Road), N.M. 532, N.M. 48, and N.M. 220.

During the project motorists can expect short delays between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., seven days a week, weather permitting.  Drivers are asked to watch for NMDOT maintenance personnel working in the area, observe temporary construction signing, and reduce speed to the posted speed limits. Remember to please drive safely through work zones.
