Las Cruces – Congressman Steve Pearce will host two meetings on Tuesday, August 9th, in which veterans will have the opportunity to talk with the staff of the VA Hospital in Albuquerque, including George Marnell, director of the New Mexico VA Health Care System.
"After hearing concerns from area veterans related to the VA hospital system, I hosted two meetings in May to allow veterans and VA hospital staff to interact and communicate their ideas," said Pearce. "Both veterans and VA staff have communicated that these meetings were extremely successful, and I look forward to helping vets in Alamogordo and Silver City with similar needs."
The Alamogordo meeting will take place at 9:00 am at the Alamogordo VFW Post #7686, located at 700 Highway 70.
The Silver City meeting will be held at 4:30 pm at American Legion Post #18, located at 409 West College Ave.
Congressman Pearce has promised to hold quarterly meetings with VA staff and veterans in different locations throughout southern New Mexico. Previous meetings have been extremely successful, and Rep. Pearce plans on holding more in the future.
For those wishing to avoid discussion in a public forum, VA Hospital staff members will be on site and ready to discuss individual cases with veterans thirty minutes prior to the meeting time. Congressman Pearce and the VA staff will listen to any questions and take comments about veterans' services.
