VA Offers Flu Shots To Veterans

The New Mexico Veterans Affairs Health Care System (NMVAHCS) will soon offer flu shots to protect thousands of the state’s military veterans.  Flu vaccine will be available for patients during their scheduled appointments at the Raymond G. Murphy VA Medical Center in Albuquerque starting Sept. 9 and continuing availability throughout the flu season until March 2014.

The annual Walk-In Clinic will open at the medical center on Sept. 16, operating from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday in the Area A Conference Room on the first floor,  just inside the main entrance of Building 41.  The medical center is located at 1501 San Pedro Dr. SE.

The flu vaccine also is available to veterans at VA Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) across New Mexico. Veterans are encouraged to call their local CBOC for flu shot clinic dates and times.

For more information about the flu shot clinic, please call the Infectious Disease Department at (505) 265-1711, ext. 4575.
