Santa Fe, NM - New Mexico Film Office Director Nick Maniatis announced today the award-winning writer-director John Michael McDonagh's jet-black action-comedy "War on Everyone" has started principal photography in Albuquerque, NM. The film is produced by Chris Clark ("Calvary," "The Guard," "Johnny English Reborn") and Flora Fernandez Marengo ("Calvary," "The Guard," "The Betrayal") for Reprisal Films, in conjunction with Phil Hunt and Compton Ross for Head Gear Films with the support of the BFI Film Fund. Bankside Films are handling international sales and will co-represent domestic rights with CAA and UTA jointly.
Known for his distinctively witty sensibility and confrontational humor, "War on Everyone" is McDonagh's follow-up to the acclaimed drama "Calvary," starring Brendan Gleeson, and his offbeat comedy "The Guard," also starring Gleeson, with Don Cheadle, which became a worldwide sleeper hit.
The film stars Michael Peña ("Ant-Man," "Fury," "End of Watch"), Alexander Skarsgård ("Tarzan," "Melancholia," "True Blood,") and Theo James ("Insurgent," "Divergent"). Joining in supporting roles are Tessa Thompson ("Selma," "Dear White People"), Caleb Landry Jones ("X Men: First Class," "God's Pocket"), Paul Reiser ("Concussion," "Whiplash"), Stephanie Sigman ("Spectre," "Miss Bala") and David Wilmot ("The Guard," "Calvary, '71").
"War On Everyone" is about two corrupt cops in New Mexico who set out to blackmail and frame every criminal unfortunate enough to cross their path. Things take a sinister turn, however, when they try to intimidate someone who is more dangerous than they are. Or is he?

"War on Everyone" will film in and around Albuquerque, from early April until mid-May 2015, before the production moves to Reykjavik, Iceland, for its final week of filming. The movie will hire 25 New Mexico cast, 352 local background players, 12 local stunt players and 70 New Mexico crew.
