Warrant Issued For Man Accused Of Stabbing Brother

A warrant has been issued for a Berino man who is accused of stabbing his brother during an argument.

Just after midnight on Sunday, Sept. 15, Doña Ana County Sheriff’s deputies were notified that family members were taking a man to a Las Cruces-area hospital after he had allegedly been stabbed by his brother.

According to witnesses at the hospital, there had been a family gathering earlier that night in the 100 block of Warthen Road in Berino.  At the party, 21-year-old Omar Espinoza-Hernandez reportedly got into an argument with and attempted to stab his father. Witnesses said Espinoza-Hernandez’s brother tried to intervene, receiving three stab wounds to his upper torso.

The victim was later taken to an El Paso-area hospital for further treatment.

Investigators say Espinoza-Hernandez is five feet three inches tall, weighs 144 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office at (575) 525-8882.
