Residents and businesses along a portion of N. Main Street will experience a water outage from 12:01 – 4 a.m. Friday, March 4.
Impacted areas include N. Main between Madrid and Fleming Avenues; East Cambridge Drive and East Gallagher Avenue from Main east to end of cul-de-sacs; Chestnut Avenue from Main east to Mesquite and Chestnut from Main west to Alameda Boulevard.
Adjacent areas also may be affected. Crews will post door hanger notices on affected homes and businesses a minimum of 24 hours in advance of the planned outage.
Once water service is restored, residents might notice discolored water due to mineral deposits. Although the water is safe to drink, the City recommends waiting to wash laundry until after the water becomes clear.
The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, residents should flush all faucets in the house or business for five minutes. If the discoloration remains, call the City of Las Cruces at 526-0500 for assistance. The TTY number is 575/541-2182.
