Wells Fargo To Host "Retirement Day" Saturday

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Wells Fargo today announced it will host a Retirement Day event at all of its New Mexico banking locations. Customers are invited to visit a store on Saturday, February 28, and have a personal conversation about how they are doing on their journey to retirement, or how to get started on saving for retirement.

Tax time is when many people are naturally looking at their finances and setting goals for the coming year. With a majority of Wells Fargo customers ranking “savings and investing” or “retirement” as their number one financial priority, Retirement Day will help them understand the importance of saving early and regularly, as well as having a plan to track progress and estimate funds in retirement.

“We welcome customers to start a new retirement conversation or check up on their existing savings goals and talk about future planning. We believe this is an ideal time to have this conversation and look forward to helping our customers succeed financially,” said Yolanda Garcia, Area President at Wells Fargo. “Retirement confidence is strongly tied to having a plan. So saving early and consistently is essential to the success of one’s financial outcome for retirement.”

Some of the many tools and resources available to prepare for retirement include:

·         My Retirement Plan®, an online tool that provides a realistic savings goal tailored to customers’ needs — and a realistic plan for pursuing that goal.

  • Way2SaveSM Retirement Account can be set up to receive regular transfers to begin to build savings and make adjustments, too, as a person’s budget grows.
  • Wells Fargo IRA gives individuals a tax-advantaged way to save for retirement.

For help understanding how to prepare for and live in retirement, anyone can visit Wells Fargo’sRetirementsite or visit the Beyond TodaySM blog

Wells Fargo has 93 banking locations taking part in this event across New Mexico. Since business hours vary by location, Wells Fargo encourages people interested in attending Retirement Day to contact their local Wells Fargo banking store for additional information as in some locations that are normally closed on Saturdays, Retirement Day will then occur onFriday, February 27.
