White Sands Field Seminars

By KRWG News

Las Cruces – White Sands National Monument is offering summer workshops on everything from photography to the unique animals and plants that live in the glistening gypsum sand dunes.

It will be the second year that the southern New Mexico national monument has offered the field seminars under its White Sands Institute.

They are taught by experts in the field and focus on the unique ecology, history, and wonders of the national monument and surrounding Chihuahuan desert.

The courses combine outdoor field excursions with classroom presentations.

The monument's supervisor, Kevin Schneider, says the institute offers a chance to learn about White Sands through the eyes of professional artists and researchers.
