Winter Weather Taxes Santa Fe Homeless Shelters

The onset of winter has homeless shelters in Santa Fe looking for help.

Shelter operators say they have an increasing need for warm clothing to provide to the needy.

According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, Deborah Tang of St. Elizabeth Shelter says shoes and socks are the shelter's biggest need right now.

Tang says many people showing up at the shelter are wearing wet shoes and shocks because of the wet weather

Meanwhile, Interfaith Community Shelter has been housing nearly twice its maximum limit of 60 people overnight since the recent snowstorm.
