WNMU Announces Partnerships With Juarez School And Red Cross

Juarez, Mexico – The newly formed Language Institute at Western New Mexico University signed partnership agreements with two entities in Juarez, Mexico on Tuesday, June 12.

With the new partnership, English as a Second Language (ESL) courses will be offered through Vision Mexico, a private elementary and middle school, in Juarez beginning in July. The courses are open to children and adults of all ages and at different English-speaking levels.

A partnership has also been formed with the Red Cross in Juarez to offer courses for medical field professionals who can learn English on-site at the Red Cross facility.

The 12-level program includes 45 hours of class time per level. At the conclusion of each level, the student will receive a certificate of completion from WNMU indicating that they have mastered English at that particular level.

“This new partnership will open doors for the citizens of Juarez who are eagerly awaiting to learn English which they can use for their job seeking opportunities,” said Manuel Rodriguez, Acting Director of the Language Institute. “This will also create opportunities for Juarez residents to seek higher education in area schools including WNMU.”

To register for courses, please contact the Language Institute at 575.538.6158 or Mexican citizens can contact Vision Mexico at 656.625.7284.
