Woman Arrested On Sixth DWI Charge Near Las Cruces

Doña Ana County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 50-year-old woman on drunk-driving charges after several of her neighbors reportedly saw her crashing at least three times in her trailer park.

Just before 5 p.m. Friday, Diane Tarr had reportedly gone on a fast-food run when she was returning home in the 4000 block of San Ysidro Road, north of Las Cruces. When deputies arrived, they learned Tarr had allegedly crashed into a gas line, a water line and another vehicle.

A records search revealed Tarr has five previous DWI charges, and is currently on probation for aggravated DWI. She had also been ordered to install an interlock device in her vehicle, but deputies said there wasn’t one.

Tarr was arrested and transported to the Doña Ana County Detention Center on charges of aggravated DWI, driving on a revoked license, and violating conditions of parole. She is currently being held without bond, pending arraignment.

Maintenance crews reportedly repaired the gas and water line. No injuries were reported.
