A Las Cruces woman was arrested early Friday morning after allegedly beating her 44-year-old boyfriend in the face.
Doña Ana County Sheriff’s investigators arrested Alexa Rodriguez, 24, after being called to the 9400 block of Bataan Memorial West in reference to a domestic disturbance.
According to the victim, Rodriguez arrived at his home at 3:30 a.m. and was reportedly intoxicated. The victim says he asked Rodriguez to leave the previous night, which caused a verbal argument between the two when Rodriguez returned. The argument reportedly escalated, and the victim says that’s when Rodriguez began to strike him repeatedly in the face.
After questioning, sheriff’s investigators took Rodriguez into custody, charging her with battery against a household member. She’s being held at the Doña Ana County Detention Center on a $2,000 cash bond.
At the time of her arrest, Rodriguez was out on bail for previous felony battery charges against the same victim in October 2011.
