Woman Gets 30-Year Prison Term For 2013 Albuquerque Murder

A woman accused of killing an Albuquerque man and stuffing the body in the trunk of his car has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Prosecutors say 21-year-old Jennifer Renee McKee pleaded guilty Thursday to second-degree murder, kidnapping, conspiracy to commit murder and aggravated assault on a peace office.

McKee was 18 when police say she and another woman fatally stabbed 51-year-old Maurice Gonzales at his northeast Albuquerque home in May 2013.

Authorities say McKee and her co-defendant stuffed Gonzales in the trunk of his car and planned to buy lighter fluid to burn his body.

They were arrested on their way to Los Lunas when police tried to stop them for driving too slow on Interstate 25. That led to a high-speed chase and crash in Belen.
