Workforce Solutions Borderplex Wins National Grant from Kellogg Foundation

El Paso, Texas – Innovate+Educate (I+E) and the National Association of Workforce Boards (NAWB) announced that Workforce Solutions Borderplex (WSB) is one of three winners of the W. K. Kellogg Foundation (WKKF) Two-Gen Grant.   The funding will support WSB’s initiative to advance new pathways to employment for parents and families with young children (0-8 years) while providing linkages between early childhood development and employment that will lead to economic advancement.

“WSB is excited to be part of this national pilot, collaborating with NAWB and the W.K.Kellogg Foundation.   This opportunity supports our Board of Directors’ goal of enhancing our visibility and community impact,” said Joyce Wilson, CEO of WSB.  “As an alumni of the Kellogg National Fellowship Program, I am excited to be engaged with the W. K. Kellogg Foundation again and to be recognized by our national association for the important, innovative work we are doing in the Borderplex region.”

“We are especially grateful to Patricia Villalobos for the work she does for workforce development at the national level.  She should be commended, as she serves as an unofficial ambassador for the borderplex region,” added Wilson.

Patricia Villalobos, President of Bernhart /Taylor Inc., is a past member of the WSB board, and current member of the National Association of Workforce Boards (NAWB).  Patricia made history in Washington D.C., as she is the first board member from WSB to ever be elected to serve on the national board.
