Las Cruces, NM – Video games Some people especially kids love them. Parents "buy" them but are often worried about the effects the games might have on their children. Well now, NMSU researchers are saying video games might actually turn out to be one of our BEST tools to keep not only young people---but EVERYONE -- in better shape. Las Cruces, NM – Dona Ana County Clerk Elect Lynn Ellins says the Bureau of Elections is currently going through the provisional ballots from District 37--which is home to the too close to call State Senate Race between Republican Senate Minority Whip Leonard Lee Rawson and his Democratic opponent Steve Fischmann. As KRWG's Evan Woodward reports, depending on how many provisional ballots qualify, the outcome of the election could be revealed tonight.

Santa Fe, NM – Governor Bill Richardson says Hispanic voter turnout in New Mexico was the key to Democrat Barack Obama's presidential victory in the state. The governor, in a press conference in his cabinet room at the capitol, gave his impressions of the Democratic sweep that took place. From Santa Fe, KUNM's Jim Williams reports.

Las Cruces, NM – Hobbs oilman Harry Teague secured New Mexico's conservative southern congressional district yesterday. His win marks the first Democratic victory in the district in twenty-eight years. KRWG's Marco Grajeda spoke with Teague about his early victory.

Las Cruces, NM – Tuesday the residents of Otero County voted against a Spaceport Tax referendum which would have imposed a gross receipts tax of one eighth of one percent to help the state fund the construction of Spaceport America. As KRWG's Evan Woodward reports, Executive Director for Spaceport America Steve Landeene says all systems are still go for the 198 million dollar project despite Tuesday's setback.

Las Cruces, NM – In unofficial results from the state's website New Mexico's five electoral votes went to presidential candidate Democrat Barack Obama. Obama received fifty-six percent of the popular vote while Republican candidate John McCain received forty-three percent.

In the State Senate race Congressman Democrat Tom Udall defeated opponent republican Steve Pearce. Udall garnered sixty percent of the votes as compared to Pearce's forty percent.
