Las Cruces, NM – Former President Bill Clinton appeared in El Paso, Texas last night during a rally for his wife, New York Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. As KRWG's Evan Woodward reports, Clinton made the border city his last stop on a lengthy sweep through South Texas.

Las Cruces, NM – The international and Border programs at New Mexico State University held an international festival Saturday where over 20 countries were represented. Each country had a booth where they displayed different aspects of their culture. As KRWG's Jessica Borchert reports, the event was both educational and entertaining.

Las Cruces, NM – Tuesday the Presidential Primaries held in four states could determine the winners of the Democratic and Republican nominations in this years election. Residents in Vermont and Rhode Island, along with those in the key states of Ohio and Texas will have a chance to cast their vote. Las Cruces, NM – Wednesday, Governor Bill Richardson dispatched state police officers to Akela Flats in Luna County to block access to a high-stakes bingo parlor. Richardson says the Fort Sill Apache Tribe's proposed casino is illegal and says he was forced to take matter into his own hands. As KRWG's Marco Grajeda reports, the tribe's chairman accused Richardson of harassment and promised to take legal action.

Las Cruces, NM – Legislation approved in the United States House of Representatives Wednesday would remove a tax exemption on oil and gas companies---costing the industry nearly eighteen billion dollars in taxes. As KRWG's Callie French reports if the bill passes, those monies would now be invested in renewable energy.

Las Cruces – Tuesday morning Catholic Priest, Father Bill Morton came before the Dona Ana County Board of Commissioners to discuss human rights issues on the United States/Mexico border; in a place called Lomas Del Poleo. As KRWG's Evan Woodward reports, the small agrarian community which sits just a mile South of Sunland Park, New Mexico finds itself at the center of a violent land dispute.

Las Cruces, NM – In August of 2007, President Bush Signed the Protect America Act which regarded more "modernized" methods of surveillance, like data monitoring, foreign and domestic wiretapping, internet communications and even disposable cell phones. The act came as an amendment to the foreign intelligence surveillance act, which was originally created in 1978.

Las Cruces – New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson was in Las Cruces Friday to sign several bills sponsored by State Representatives and Senators from Southern New Mexico. As KRWG's Evan Woodward reports, the Governor says the legislative session was good for New Mexico State University.

Las Cruces, NM – This week, Congress is taking a break from the stress of drafting and approving legislation because of President's Day Recess. Nonetheless, for United States Senator Jeff Bingaman, the break did not mean time off from discussing public policy. Las Cruces, NM – The United State's Section of the International Boundary and Water Commission plans to begin improvements to the Dona Ana county levee system in the coming weeks. As KRWG's Sarina Turnbull reports, that means some residents living along the Rio Grande may not be required to pay for flood insurance.

Las Cruces, NM – White Sands Missile Range is preparing to double in size over the next few years. By the end of the summer, the post is expecting to have an additional 535 soldiers by 2013 the base is expected to double in size bringing more soldiers and their children.
