130 Animals Found At Clovis Home

Clovis authorities say there were 130 animals, many sick and dying, in and around the home of a 47-year-old woman found dead in the home.

The Clovis News Journal reports that the animals included 35 cats and 13 dogs. There also were goats, rabbits, prairie dogs, hamsters, ferrets, turtles, snakes and lizards.

Cause of death of the 47-year-old woman found Aug. 20 hasn't yet been determined. Her two young children also lived at the home.

Curry County Undersheriff Wesley Waller says all the cats were in such poor condition they had to be destroyed but that the other animals have been placed with rescue groups.

According to Waller, investigators don't believe the woman's death contributed to the poor conditions of the animals.
