3 Hurt In Stabbing Attack At El Paso Nightclub

El Paso police say a 30-year-old man has been arrested for using a box cutter to slash three people at a nightclub following a scuffle.

Investigators say Jesus Ortega is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was being held Wednesday at the El Paso County jail on bonds in excess of $150,000.

The attack happened Tuesday evening and resulted in the three victims being taken to a hospital with cuts to the head, neck and chest. The injuries to the men are not considered life-threatening.

Staffers at the club detained Ortega until police arrived.

The investigation is continuing and police say additional charges may be filed against Ortega, who's an El Paso resident.
