Afternoon Stabbing And Robbery In Las Cruces

Las Cruces – Las Cruces Police are investigating a Wednesday afternoon armed robbery that resulted in the victim being transported to an area hospital with stab wounds.

At around 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, Las Cruces Police were called to an area just south of Apodaca Park, just off Madrid Avenue, where a 60-year-old man received lacerations to his face and arms. The victim told police that a small amount of cash was taken from him, as well.

The victim was transported to Memorial Medical Center with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives learned that the victim and suspect were talking near Apodaca Park when the suspect pulled a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times.

The suspect is said to be Hispanic with a dark complexion and in his mid-20's, 5-feet-3-inches tall with a stocky build. He has short black hair. He was last seen wearing a white and black plaid shirt, dark gray shorts and a straw-hat. The suspect was said to have tattoos on his neck and spoke broken English.
