Albuquerque Police: Man Rear-Ends FBI Agent's Car

Albuquerque police say a man who was apparently driving drunk after a college basketball game is facing battery charges after he rear-ended an FBI agent's car and then punched the agent in the face.

The incident involving 36-year-old Gregory Gallegos happened late Saturday after the Lobos game. A criminal complaint shows Gallegos acknowledged drinking several beers before the crash and his blood-alcohol level was twice the legal limit.

The Albuquerque Journal reports Gallegos told officers he got into an altercation with the FBI agent when the agent got out of his vehicle after the crash and showed him his badge.

Gallegos has been charged with battery on a peace officer and was booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center. It wasn't immediately known if he has an attorney.
