Anaya Launches Land Commissioner Bid

By KRWG News

New Mexico – Santa Fe County Commissioner Mike Anaya says he is pursuing the Democratic nomination for state land commissioner in next year's election.

Anaya, a rancher and resident of Stanley, has served on numerous state boards and commissions and recently completed a term as president of the New Mexico Association of Counties.

He said Wednesday his campaign is based on "common sense solutions and actions." If elected, he promises to run the land office with transparency. He says he will solicit input from residents of every county in an effort to maximize returns from state trust lands that fund public schools.

He also says he will not get caught up on partisan issues.

Anaya graduated from Santa Fe High and New Mexico Highlands University.
