Animal Adoption Events Saturday

Las Cruces – The Las Cruces area continues to suffer with pet overpopulation.

Adoption events will be held tomorrow Saturday to help alleviate the problem.

The Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley will conduct two pet adoption events Saturday.

Dogs, puppies, cats and kittens are all available.

Adoptions will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Farmer's Market in downtown Las Cruces.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, adoptions will be facilitated at the PETCO store on Lohman Avenue, just east of Telshor.

Adoption fees are $75 for dogs/ puppies and $50 for cats/kittens.

The fee includes the first set of vaccinations, spay/neuter and microchip.

At the PETCO event, microchipping for pets that already have homes will be available to the public for $20.
