Assault Arrest

Alamogordo – An Alamogordo man accused of hitting another man with a baseball bat over money has been arrested.

Twenty-nine-year-old Jason Sheridan is charged with burglary, battery with a deadly weapon, assault and criminal damage.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Sgt. David Hunter says the victim told police that Sheridan chased him in his home while swinging the bat, and that he caught up with him in the backyard.

That's when he says Sheridan hit him several times with the bat, injuring his head.

He was treated and released from a local hospital.

Sheridan is behind bars.
