A Belen woman has pleaded guilty to a federal bank fraud charge and will have to pay more than $118,000 in restitution.
Prosecutors say 43-year-old Louisa Gabaldon entered into a plea agreement Tuesday with the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Gabaldon was indicted in August 2013 and charged with 12 counts of bank fraud.
The indictment alleged that from January 2004 through July 2010, Gabaldon engaged in an illegal scheme to defraud the Belen Railroad Employees Credit Union by making fraudulent withdrawal of funds from accounts belonging to her employer's customers.
Prosecutors say she must pay about $118,376 in restitution to cover losses associated with all 12 counts in the indictment as well as related losses suffered by the credit union.
Gabaldon faces up to a 30-year prison term when she's sentenced.
