Border Crossing Busy

By KRWG News

El Paso – Federal agents on the U.S.-Mexico border in and around El Paso were busy during Christmas week, confiscating everything from marijuana to tamales.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized 1,682 pounds of marijuana and several prohibited food products.

The largest seizure was on Christmas Eve at the Bridge of the Americas, where more than 600 pounds of pot were found hidden in wooden furniture.

Agents working in El Paso, West Texas and New Mexico siezed food products including apples, oranges, sugarcane, guavas, sausage and pork tamales.
