A Celebration Of American Music

Las Cruces – A two-hour concert of all-American music -- ranging from pop to rock to country to Broadway -- is planned for the 10th anniversary weekend of the 9/11 attacks, with performances in both Las Cruces and Alamogordo. David Kinkaid, music director of the New Desert Harmony Singers came by the KRWG studios to talk with Intermezzo host Leora Zeitlin about "A Celebration of American Music."

They also discuss the dedication of the singers involved and the Broadway dances in the second half -- choreographed by Debra Knapp and performed by the NMSU Contemporary Dance Theate.

The concert takes place at the Onate High School Performing Arts Center on Sept. 10 at 7 p.m., and on Sept. 11 at the Flickinger Center for Performing Arts in Alamogordo at 2 p.m.
