Las Cruces – Gov. Susana Martinez will be in Las Cruces this weekend to help kickoff Centennial SalsaFest, one of the many events being planned to celebrate the state's upcoming 100th birthday.
The kickoff event for SalsaFest, will take place on Main Street in Las Cruces from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
New Mexico became the 47th state on January 6, 1912. A variety of events and celebrations are planned around the state throughout 2012.
Downtown Las Cruces Partnership is host of Saturday's event, which includes salsa music, salsa dancing, storytelling a classic car show and food and craft vendors.
