Clinton Has Support Of Key New Mexico Democrats

hillaryclinton.com

Some of New Mexico's top Democrats are throwing their support behind Hillary Rodham Clinton for the party's presidential nomination.

The Associated Press surveyed the state's nine superdelegates about which candidate they plan to support at the party's national convention next summer. Seven responded, with four naming Clinton as their choice. Three have yet to commit.

The AP reached out to all 712 superdelegates nationally and found that 359 have committed to Clinton. She holds a significant advantage over Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley.

Superdelegates can support the candidate of their choice, regardless of what happens in the primaries and caucuses.

U.S. Rep. Michelle Lujan Grisham, one of the delegates, says the prospect of having a woman president is exciting and she believes Clinton is credible and capable.
