Commission Appoints Eric Rodriguez As Doña Ana County Treasurer

At a special meeting this morning, the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to name Eric L. Rodriguez as Doña Ana County treasurer.

Immediately after the vote, Rodriguez was sworn in by Third Judicial District Chief Judge Fernando R. Macias, and his signed oath of office was subsequently recorded at the Doña Ana County Clerk’s Office.

Rodriguez was the chief deputy clerk to David Gutierrez, who was removed from office last week after a civil trial. Rodriguez won election to the office of county treasurer in the Nov. 8 General Elections.

He will fill out the remaining 26 days of Gutierrez’s term. He and other local elected officials will be sworn in during a Dec. 29 ceremony at the Doña Government Center with Macias administering the oaths of office for the terms that begin Jan. 1, 2017.
