Convicted Killer Set To Die In Texas

A 41-year-old man on Texas death row for almost two decades for the slayings of three people during a robbery at their San Antonio home is set to die this week in Huntsville.

Arnold Prieto would be the first convicted killer in Texas given lethal injection this year. He's scheduled to die Wednesday.

Prieto and two companions were arrested in 1994, seven months after 72-year-old Rudolfo Rodriguez, his 62-year-old wife Virginia and a 90-year-old woman they cared for in their home were fatally stabbed. Rodriguez and his wife were related to Prieto's two accomplices and were thought to have a large amount of money at their home.

Their attackers fled with jewelry and a purse containing $300.

Prieto was living in the Dallas suburb of Carrollton when he was arrested.
