Albuquerque, NM – A group of economists and community leaders have launched a campaign to persuade a company planning a coal-fired power plant on the Navajo Nation to build a renewable energy plant instead. The environmental coalition is trying to convince the company hoping to build the plant that using coal will put its investors at risk. But as KUNM's Jim Williams reports, project planners say the coal plant will benefit the Navajo Nation, and help pave the way for future renewable energy projects.
