An 8-year-old New Mexico girl says God told her to go to the bathroom just seconds before a stray bullet flew through her bedroom wall.
The bullet struck the girl's room Sunday afternoon around the same time Santa Fe police were working a call of gunshots being fired four blocks away.
A man later told police that he shot himself in the foot but investigators aren't sure about his story. Santa Fe Police Department spokeswoman Celina Westervelt says police also aren't sure if the two events are connected.
The girl's mother, Wendolin Hernandez, says her daughter says God knew this was going to happen and "he made me go to the restroom."
She says police may have to cut through her daughter's wall to remove the bullet.
