Las Cruces – Dona Ana County homeowners will likely seeing higher taxes when their bills arrive. Homeowners will likely being paying an average $16.93 more in taxes on a roughly $100,000 home later this year, assuming home valuations remained the same this year compared to 2010.
The Las Cruces Sun-News (http://bit.ly/owbq2n ) reports most rates countywide declined on non-residential property like vacant land or commercial buildings.
The trend in recent years has been for residential rates to increase in Dona Ana County.
Hatch residents will likely pay $17.10 more on a home assessed at $100,000, assuming valuations stayed flat between 2010 and this year.
Meanwhile, the city of Anthony and the unincorporated regions of the south county will likely only see increases of $8.02 this year.
