DPNM Vice-Chair Sanchez Elected to National Leadership

Commentary: Atlanta, GA – This past Saturday at the Association of State Democratic Chairs (ASDC) meeting, Democratic Party of New Mexico Vice-Chairman Juan Sanchez III was elected to serve as the Vice-President of the ASDC, representing the Western Region. The ASDC supports state Democratic parties and representing their interests to the Democratic National Committee, and Vice-Chair Juan Sanchez III specifically will represent Western states' on the national level.

"New Mexico was a bright spot for Democrats in an otherwise dismal election year, and I'm ready to give New Mexico and Western states a voice in the national Democratic Party. My election to this position demonstrates that the Party is hungry for young and Hispanic voices. I look forward to bringing a new perspective that ensures young people and New Mexico values are represented," said Vice Chair Juan Sanchez III.

Vice-Chairman Sanchez will represent over 15 states and territories included in the Western Region during his two-year term with the ASDC.  He is succeeding Jaxon Ravens, former chair of the Washington state Democratic Party.

"I believe state parties will play a pivotal role in Democratic strategy as we work towards organizing against the irresponsible Trump and Republican agenda. The Democratic Party of New Mexico's success should be an example to the rest of the country of what is possible when we focus on empowering the grassroots."
