Mesilla – Nora Barraza was elected Mayor of Mesilla on Tuesday. She garnered 488 votes. Ella Alvarez Nelson received 324 votes and 113 people voted for incumbent Mayor Michael Cadena. In the Hatch mayoral election, incumbent Judd Nordyke defeated Kathie Marie Franzoy 127 to 69.
In the Mesilla trustee race, six people were vying for two seats. Incumbent Jesus Caro, Junior, and Linda Flores were elected.
Four candidates were vying for two seats to serve as trustee in Hatch. Both incumbents were elected...Andy Nunez and Roberto Torres.
