Events On Tap For Downtown Las Cruces

  Main St:

·         City of Las Cruces Public Works Department is overseeing a project to repair damaged tiles and add expansion joints to eliminate further damage at La Placita in Downtown. The result will be reduced maintenance and improved pedestrian safety.

  • Museums and Cultural Center:

o   Branigan Cultural Center presents an online version of the Las Cruces Crossroads of History exhibit.
o   The Branigan Cultural Center, the Museum of Art, the Museum of Nature and Science and the Railroad Museum offer exceptional exhibits and programs that enrich the experiences of residents and visitors.

o   April 1 to May 21 – Barbara Hubbard: Bringing Nashville to Las Cruces.

o   April 1 to May 21 – Our Living Culture: Watercolor Society Juried Member Show.

o   April 8 to June 4 – Visions of Our Monument: Portraits of the Organ Mountains Desert Peaks National Monument by Meg G. Freyermuth. Opening Reception with the artist: April 15, 5-7 p.m.

o   Teen Game Night – Every Tuesday and Thursday from 4 – 6 p.m. for ages 12-18
o   Toddler Time –Wednesday & Thursday at 10 a.m. Story time for ages 3 and up.

o   Read to me - Every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. story time for ages 1-3.

o   Mother Goose Time – Every Wednesday at 11 a.m. Activities forinfants & their adults.  Located in the children’s Kiva.

o   Rhythm Round Up – Fridays at 10:30 a.m. Music & motion for ages 6-10.

o   Team Anime – Every Saturday at 1 p.m. Watch an hour of anime and do a manga or other Japanese related activity for ages 12-18.

o   Reading & Book Signing – Monday, April 11 at 1 p.m. in the Roadrunner Room. Listen to Shelly Armitage read from and discuss her book “Walking the Llano”.

o   Reading & Book Signing- Tuesday, April 12, 2 p.m. in the Roadrunner Room – Local Author and story dancer Terry Alvarez talks about and signs copies of her book about growing up in the US/Mexican Borderlands.

o   Fast Pencil Workshop – Tuesday, April 12, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Roadrunner Room.
