Federal Money Will Help Train NM Workers

By KRWG News

New Mexico – The U.S. Department of Commerce has awarded a $340,000 grant to the New Mexico Manufacturing Extension Partnership to help small- and medium-size businesses acquire advanced manufacturing capabilities to become more competitive.

The partnership was reauthorized under the America Competes Act, which was recently signed into law.

The funding was announced by Democratic U.S. Sen. Jeff Bingaman.

He says that in today's economic climate, it's important to continue to invest in initiatives that create jobs.

Bingaman says the grant supports a public-private partnership that has saved and created jobs in New Mexico.
