The Las Cruces Fire Department extinguished a garage fire in a private residence Wednesday morning.
Firefighters responded to the 2000-block of Wyoming Avenue just after 1:00 a.m. to report of a structure fire. The resident called 911 after arriving home to discover smoke coming from the garage. Crews encountered heavy fire conditions on arrival. The fire was immediately brought under control and a search the structure was conducted.
Firefighters were able to confine the blaze before it extended into the house. The garage, two passenger vehicles and a motorcycle were heavily damaged by fire. The remainder of the house sustained moderate smoke damage.
Fire investigators are actively processing the scene and have not determined the cause of the fire or the dollar value of the loss.
No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.
