A former Sunland Park mayor-elect has been released from jail pending trial after a judge erased most of his six-figure bond.
District Judge Darren Kugler on Monday granted a motion to reduce Daniel Salinas' bond.
Salinas is accused of trying to blackmail a political opponent with a lap-dance video. He's also accused of corruption charges.
According to television station KTSM, Salinas has been behind bars for the last 10 months.
