Fugitive May Be Back In Las Cruces Area

  A man arrested on residential burglary charges who reportedly fled to Mexico after posting bond could be back in Doña Ana County, according to Doña Ana County Sheriff’s investigators.

Guillermo Velasquez, 19, was arrested on July 10, 2013 for residential burglary and conspiracy to commit a third-degree felony after deputies reportedly caught Velasquez and another suspect coming out of a window in the 5800 block of Stern Drive.

Velasquez was booked at the Doña Ana County Detention Center, where he posted bond on July 29, 2013.

Investigators say he has not been seen since, but new information leads them to believe he could be in the area.
