GOP SuperPACS Target New Mexico

After being all but ignored by the national Republican Party, two key GOP super PACs are making a last minute push into New Mexico.  Restore our Future is buying time to bolster Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney's campaign, while the Crossroads PAC has put a half million dollars into ads for U.S. Senate candidate Heather Wilson.

The ad buys come less than a week after the latest Albuquerque Journal poll showed both Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Martin Heinrich and President Obama leading by 9 points. The statewide poll by Research & Polling of Albuquerque has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.8 percentage points.

Once considered a battleground, national Republican groups in September pulled ad buys and moved staffers from New Mexico to more competitive states.
