Greater Las Cruces Chamber Of Commerce Welcomes New CEO

Debbi Moore is taking over as President and CEO of the Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce, after 14 years at the Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Moore laid out her plans for her first 100 days at the chamber.

“First of all we are going to meet with local leaders,” Moore said. “It is very important that as the largest business organization in the region that we continue serving as that voice of business, and being that pro-business organization that we are and that we will continue to be.

Moore says she also hopes to increase membership, and revitalize fundraising efforts for the Armijo house. She says she also plans on working with community partners to improve health care.

“We remain strong in this joint initiative,” Moore said. “To fill our nursing shortage, as well as collaborating physician recruitment and retention efforts. That will help us increase access to our providers in a growing community.”

Moore says one of the biggest challenges is just getting more people to shop at their local businesses.

“They need to be investing in their local community,” Moore said. “And certainly I will look and make sure that all the things that we know at a city, county, state, and federal level, make it easy to start businesses in Las Cruces, to retain businesses, and sustain. But they need shoppers, and that’s what sustains our community, and economy, is spending those dollars.”
