New Mexico – SANTA FE, N.M. (KRWG) Organizers for an annual tribute to state Latino lawmakers have announced that U.S. Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis will be the event's keynote speaker.
Solis is scheduled to address the "18th Annual Tribute to Hispano Legislators" Feb. 9, at the Sweeney Convention Center in Santa Fe.
Organizers say Solis will speak on the current economic conditions.
Incoming University of New Mexico president Robert Frank also is slated to speak.
In addition, organizers say the event will honor New Mexico Latino veterans from all wars with its "Hispano Roundtable Medal of Valor and Honor" awards.
