Homeless Men Help Albuquerque Police Find Suspect

Albuquerque police credit two homeless men with helping police locate a man who allegedly assaulted a city bus driver.

Police say the two men were passengers on the driver's bus on Sunday when another man got on the bus, spit on the driver and hit him in the head with a large rock.

According to police, the attacker got off the bus and the homeless men then followed him until police arrived and arrested him.

Police didn't identify the homeless men by name but said they told officers they were trying to do the right thing.

Police say the driver was taken to a hospital for observation of a head wound and that his alleged attacked was arrested and booked into jail on a charge of aggravated battery.
