Las Cruces Area Girl Accused Of Trying To Poison Father's Pregnant Girlfriend

Las Cruces – Last night at approximately 6:50 p.m. Dona Ana County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a residence in the north valley after receiving a call from a male individual, age 51, who reported that his 15 year old daughter attempted to poison his pregnant girlfriend, age 34.

The Victim had been served pasta and noticed that the pasta appeared to have some discoloration and noticing the discoloration, did not consume the pasta.

Questioned by her father about the discoloration, the daughter first denied, but later admitted she had crushed "two to three" Ibuprofen tablets and placed the crushed powder in the portion of the serving tray that she knew the woman would serve herself from, knowing the side effects that Ibuprofen could cause.

The daughter later admitted to her father she was upset about the fact that she overheard her father's girlfriend talking on the telephone, mentioning she was pregnant with her father's child.

After consulting with the District Attorney, the case will be forwarded to the Juvenile Probation Office.
